This industry veteran has more than 30 years experience. Her previous position was as director of sales and marketing for the Doubletree by Hilton Washington D.C. North/ Gaithersburg. She also worked with The National Conference Center, The Homestead, Omni Bedford Springs, Hilton Washing- ton Dulles and elsewhere. InterContinental Washington, D.C. – The Wharf has hired Tif- fany Rioux as director of sales and marketing. With more than 20 years of experience in the field, her last position was at The Dupont Circle Hotel Washington D.C. She also has worked at Conrad Washington, D.C., Rosewood Hotel Washington D.C. and Capella Hotel Washington D.C., among others. Visit Tampa Bay has announced that it has added several new people to its sales team: Mary Gupta, Ashley Dos Santos and Kelly Farrell . With more than 20 years of experience, Gupta has been hired as the new convention sales national account director. Before this position, Gupta worked at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay as group sales and events manager. In her new position, she will be focusing on the Southeast area of the country, including state government and social events. Dos Santos has been selected as the new sales coordina- tor. Dos Santos will employ her background in marketing and operations to benefit the team. Dos Santos graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Communication. Farrell has been promoted to national account manager. Prior to this appointment, Farrell was the convention sales rep- resentative. She will now be focusing on all types of small meetings, except sports and multicultural groups. Hiltons of Chicago Sales & Marketing Complex, which rep- resents Palmer House, a Hilton Hotel; Hilton Chicago and The Drake Hotel, has hired Mario Thompson as new area director of sales and marketing. He has almost two decades of industry experience under his belt. Most recently, he worked with Hil- tons of San Diego Sales & Marketing Complex. Suncadia Resort hired Sharon Gabriel as director of sales. Gabriel has worked in group sales for more than two decades. Most recently, she worked with Napa Valley Marriott. Before that, she worked with various resorts and hotels, including Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego, Park Hyatt Aviara Resort in Carlsbad and Hyatt Regency Long Beach.
