Before being hired for this position, Gupta worked at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay as the group sales and events manager. In her new position, she will be focus- ing on the Southeast area of the country, including state government and social events. In addition, Visit Tampa Bay has selected Ashley dos Santos as the new sales coordinator. Dos San- tos will employ her background in marketing and operations to ben- efit the team. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Human Communication. Kelly Farrell has also been pro- moted at Visit Tampa Bay to national account manager. Prior to this new appointment, Farrell was the con- vention sales representative, a posi- tion she started in March of this year. She will now be focusing on all types of small meetings, except sports and multicultural groups. Hiltons of Chicago Sales & Mar- keting Complex, which represents Palmer House, a Hilton Hotel; Hil- ton Chicago and The Drake Hotel, has appointed Mario Thompson as new area director of sales and mar- keting. Thompson has had plenty of experience working with Hilton, having started working with the company more than a decade ago in 2009. He has more than 17 years of industry experience under his belt. Most recently, he worked with Hiltons of San Diego Sales & Mar- keting Complex. Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riv- erfront has hired Kerry Murtaugh as its new senior sales manager. Mur- taugh last worked for Hyatt Lodge Oak Brook Chicago where she was group sales manager. She also has been in the industry for more than 20 years working with Hyatt and elsewhere. In her new role, she will help to acquire new accounts while training and supporting the sales and events team. KSL Resorts has announced that it has promoted Chris Riccardi as its new senior vice president of global sales strategy. In his new role, Ricca- rdi will lead the global sales teams. This veteran in the industry has more than 30 years of experience, most recently working with Outrig- ger Hospitality Group as senior vice president of global sales. He also worked with Associated Luxury Hotels International for 15 years.
