Reno-Sparks Convention And Visitors Authority Selects Charles Harris As President & CEO

The Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority (RSCVA) Board of Directors selected Charles Harris to be the organization’s next President and CEO. The President/CEO reports directly to the RSCVA Board of Directors. Through direction of the Board, the President/CEO plans, coordinates, directs, and is responsible for all activities associated with the operation of the RSCVA and its facilities.  Mr. Harris begins Monday, November 16.

Mr. Harris is currently the Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President of Public Affairs for Visit Anaheim, where he has served as a senior executive since 2014 and is responsible for developing and implementing strategies related to marketing, communications, public relations, advertising and web development. Under Mr. Harris’ leadership, Anaheim played host to the successful 2019 IPW conference, the annual trade show displaying the best of America’s travel and tourism product.  His team earned more than 100 awards in recognition of excellence in marketing, including two California Poppy Awards given by Visit California.  Mr. Harris also held roles as the Vice Chair of the Visit California Brand & Content Committee and Co-Marketing Chair of the Orange County Visitor Authority, as well as seats on the Anaheim Transportation Network’s Board of Directors and Cal Travel’s Government Relations Committee.

A former sports management executive who has worked for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Anaheim Ducks, Angels Baseball and UC Irvine Athletics, Mr. Harris is also an avid landscape photographer with two grown children.
