The highly anticipated Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU celebrated its topping out with an official ceremony that marked a major milestone for brand’s third property in Arizona. Slated to open spring 2023 in the heart of downtown Tempe, the 330-guest-room hotel, located at 7 East University Drive, will augment Tempe’s revitalized downtown area and bring some of the largest conference and meeting space to the city.
“The official topping out for Omni Tempe at ASU is a major milestone in the building process of a property we are extremely proud to be bringing to the Tempe community, in partnership with Arizona State University and the City of Tempe,” said Dan Piotrowski, senior vice president of operations for Omni Hotels & Resorts. “We are thrilled to extend Omni’s hospitality and service to Tempe’s growing downtown and the thriving ASU campus.”
The hotel is a $125 million investment and part of a public-private partnership with Arizona State University (ASU) and the City of Tempe. Downtown Tempe is thriving with attractions, businesses, residents, and visitors, and Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU will be the incredible completion of an important downtown intersection.
“I’m so excited about the Omni Hotel and Conference Center coming to Tempe,” said Mayor Woods. “It’s a terrific partnership between Omni, ASU and the City that will bring so much value to our community and renew the spark of economic vitality downtown.”
Omni will develop the hotel in collaboration with a team of seasoned hospitality professionals, including C+TC Design Studio, Inc. (architect), Brasfield & Gorrie (general contractor) and Monogram at BBGM (interior design). The hotel will feature 330 guest rooms, including 11 suites, four dining outlets, a spacious pool deck, retail, and nearly 36,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor meeting space with expansive views of the ASU campus and the Arizona cityscape.
“Construction on the Omni Hotel Tempe at ASU and Conference Center is making great progress, and the anticipated entrance experience at the northwest corner of the Tempe campus and downtown Tempe is coming into focus,” said Morgan R. Olsen, ASU executive vice president, treasurer and chief financial officer. “This four-star hotel and conference center in downtown Tempe will bolster community and economic development while providing ASU with the ability to host large research and education-related meetings and public functions.”
Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU will be a lifestyle hotel, reflective of its natural surroundings and the unique local culture of Arizona:
