Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center

Following an expansive $64 million guestroom renovation, Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center is ready to welcome guests to the Potomac River waterfront at National Harbor. Minutes away from Downtown D.C., the resort will reopen with luxurious, re-designed guestrooms; incomparable indoor and outdoor meeting spaces; fresh catering menus featuring regionally sourced wine, spirits, cheeses and seafood; a brand-new summer rooftop venue; seasonal activities for families and all-ages; and Marriott International’s “Commitment to Clean.”

All of Gaylord National Resort’s 1,996 guest rooms and suites have been fully renovated. Designers drew inspiration for the guest room renovation from elements of the Capital Region, incorporating peaceful blues of the water, combined with copper penny accents as a reference to the nation’s 16th president, Abraham Lincoln. Each aspect of the guest rooms was carefully selected to offer elegance and functionality so that guests can escape to their own personal oasis after a day filled with cultural tours, creative meetings and inspiring events.

From the resort’s newly renovated Presidential Suite to its iconic 16,000 square foot Riverview Ballroom, Gaylord National delivers breathtaking, flexible indoor and outdoor venues for gatherings both large and small. With more than 600,000 square feet of meeting and exhibit space, the resort is the largest non-gaming resort on the East Coast.

The heart of any successful gathering is outstanding food and beverage. Gaylord National’s custom menus highlight local food including Maryland’s famous blue crabs and honey harvested from the resort’s rooftop hives. Cheese and produce from Maryland farms and creameries make outstanding characuterie board ingredients that pair perfectly with Maryland, DC and Virginia wine and spirits.

“We are thrilled to once again welcome guests to our Potomac River waterfront destination,” said Dan McKeon, the resort’s area general manager. “To celebrate Gaylord National Resort’s grand re-opening, we’ve planned seasonal events and entertainment that will brighten anyone’s vacation, meeting or trip to DC.”

Gaylord National’s event designers have created curated experiences for groups of any size that highlight the many amazing on-property venues, as well as locations throughout National Harbor. Block parties, dinner cruises, dine-around and even the local sites of Washington DC and Northern Virginia are all just a few steps, or a few miles from the resort.

The resort’s famous Pose Rooftop Lounge with a view will debut Replay, an 80’s themed pop-up bar offering picture-perfect, summer beverages, including PB&J adult milkshakes, boozy popsicle push-pops and frozen pouches. The wraparound rooftop bar is an ideal icebreaker location and will feature Insta-worthy environments, neon lights, retro arcade games and the best of 80’s music.

From July 1 to August 18, guests will also delight in the new #PotomacLights illuminated river walk. The limited-engagement walking tour will feature illuminated walk-through displays and twinkling lights along the Potomac River highlighted by 11 locations where guests will discover shining exhibits including an illuminated puzzle, giant glow stones, a frame tunnel and lighting art.

Protecting the health and safety of our guests, attendees, STARS (employees) and community remain of paramount importance.  As a part of Marriott International’s family, we have put in place a multi-pronged approach designed to meet the health and safety challenges presented by COVID-19 as outlined in Marriott’s Commitment to Clean. These protocols will continue to adapt to current needs, in consultation with federal, state and local authorities.
