The iconic Arizona Biltmore, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, a landmark since its opening in 1929, is revamping meeting rooms, ballrooms and pre-function rooms as part of a multimillion-dollar renovation of the resort that will be completed in fall 2014. The historic hotel will emerge with a modern and refined ambience, while preserving the historic architecture and design inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright that distinguish the grand dame of Phoenix.
The meeting facilities are receiving a soft- and hard-goods revamp including carpeting, wall coverings, lighting and AirWalls, as well as a redo of bathrooms and prefunction lounge areas. In addition to meeting spaces, the resort’s guest rooms and suites, the spa and salon, and the prohibition-era “Mystery Room” speakeasy that is used for private themed events are being redone with a sophisticated new look that recalls the landmark resort’s early years.
“We have been continuously enhancing the resort — from revamping our dining options and adding a ‘hotel within the hotel’ with club accommodations to the current renovation of our meeting facilities — to create a meeting environment that provides the level of amenities, technology and choices expected by today’s meeting planners,” said Ben Fusco, area vice president-operations Southwest, Hilton Worldwide.
In conjunction with the other recent investments to the property listed below, the historic resort will emerge from the current renovation a fully revamped property:
The 740-room Arizona Biltmore is one of Arizona’s largest meeting and event properties with dedicated indoor function space of more than 100,000 sf as well as an array of outdoor event sites including terraces, lawns and pool decks.
