Club Med, the global leader in premium all-inclusive vacations, is announcing the appointment of two seasoned executives to its North American leadership team: Armelle De la Porte des Vaux has been named Vice President of Marketing, North America, and Ron Gulaskey has been appointed Vice President of US Sales & Strategy. Both bring extensive experience and proven track records of driving growth and innovation in the travel industry. They will join Club Med as it continues its ambition to become the most desirable lifestyle vacation brand ahead of its 75th anniversary year in 2025.
Effective August 1, 2024, Armelle De la Porte des Vaux has assumed the role of Vice President of Marketing for North America. With over a decade of experience in the luxury industry, including senior roles at L’Oréal and Dior, Armelle has a strong foundation in brand development and marketing strategy across Europe, Central America, and Asia. Since joining Club Med in 2019 as Marketing Director for Benelux, she has spearheaded transformative campaigns, including revitalizing the Belgian market and overseeing strategic initiatives for the German market, one of Europe’s key outbound tourism hub. Armelle’s leadership was instrumental in launching new openings, such as the Marbella resort, and successfully managing major projects like the renovation sponsorship of Vittel. In her new role, she will leverage her vast experience to drive the continued expansion of Club Med’s L’Esprit Libre philosophy into the competitive North American market, further cementing the brand’s leadership in the all-inclusive space.
Ron Gulaskey joins Club Med with more than 20 years of executive experience in the travel industry, most recently serving as Associate Vice President of Global Sales at Celebrity Cruises. His diverse background includes leadership in both the leisure and Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events (MICE) segments, making him well-suited to drive sales strategy for Club Med’s US operations. In his previous role, Ron managed corporate, incentive, gift card, and charter sales, while also leading North America National/Strategic Account Sales & Trade Relations for Celebrity Cruises. His career in travel sales and marketing includes senior roles at Royal Caribbean Group and a strong track record of strategic partnerships with key industry associations like ASTA, ACTA, and CLIA. Prior to entering the travel sector, Ron held significant leadership roles at Polaroid Corporation, focusing on both consumer and commercial markets. Ron’s leadership in sales strategy will be pivotal as he oversees travel agency partnerships and MICE sales, further enhancing Club Med’s footprint in the US market.
