Paséa Hotel & Spa in Huntington Beach Breaks Ground

June 10, 2014

Pasea Hotel and SpaA new luxury hotel being built in Huntington Beach is expected to add a splash of style to the laidback coastal Huntington Beach, California. R.D. Olson Development and Pacific Hospitality Group (PHG) broke ground June 4 on the eight-story, 250-room Paséa Hotel & Spa, situated across from the famous Huntington Beach Pier, a mainstay in the iconic Southern California surf culture.

The hotel — a combination of beach-chic and elegance — will be integrated with the 191,000-sf Pacific City retail and entertainment center, also under development. In Spanish, paséa means to take a stroll, and combines the words “Pacific” and “sea,” evoking a slow and steady pace.

The project, which is scheduled for completion in early 2016, will be managed by PHG as a part of its growing Meritage Collection, which includes independent hotels, resorts, wineries, and golf courses in Napa Valley, Newport Beach, Santa Barbara and La Jolla.

The new Paséa Hotel & Spa will include:

  • 250 oceanview rooms and suites.
  • More than 25,000 sf of event space, including an 8,700-sf ballroom and 6,000-sf event lawn, and 10 meeting rooms of various sizes.
  • A “social room” with a built-in bar, AV, music and technology to personalize each event.
  • A Balinese-inspired spa with indoor and outdoor treatment areas
  • An expansive, custom-designed pool area including an outdoor courtyard with water and fire features.
  • A signature restaurant with display exposition cooking and floor-to-ceiling views through warehouse glass into the entire kitchen, and a wood-fired inferno centerpiece.
  • A rooftop deck and bar overlooking the Pacific Ocean with exceptional views.
  • Spacious outdoor dining patio overlooking the ocean.
  • Blend Café serving fresh coffee, pastries, sandwiches and early-evening wine by the glass.
  • 24-hour in-room dining; pool service — food and cocktails from the signature restaurant served poolside or catering to private cabanas.

“We see Paséa Hotel & Spa as the quintessential location for group meetings and business conferences in Huntington Beach, as well as for the multi-generational guest seeking an active-lifestyle travel experience,” said Tim Busch, CEO of Pacific Hospitality Group.
