San Jose Convention Center First In Bay Area To Pursue GBAC STAR Accreditation

San Jose McEnery Convention is the first Bay Area and Silicon Valley convention center to formerly commit to the GBAC STAR accreditation. Furthermore, the four historic cultural venues under the San Jose Theaters family will also be among the first performing arts venues in the industry to commit.
Team San Jose, the parent organization overseeing the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, the collection of San Jose Theaters and Visit San Jose, in collaboration with the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC), a Division of ISSA, announces their active commitment to the GBAC STAR™ facility accreditation program.
GBAC STAR is the industry’s only outbreak prevention, response and recovery accreditation. GBAC STAR establishes protocols and procedures, offers expert-led training and assesses a facility’s preparedness for biorisk situations.

The San Jose The San Jose McEnery Convention Center (pictured) and the San Jose Theaters, both managed and operated by Team San Jose, are actively pursuing GBAC STAR Accreditation. Once completed, all venues in the Team San Jose campus will be operating at the industry’s highest standards for cleaning and disinfection. Theaters include the Montgomery Theater, San Jose Civic, California Theatre, and the Center for the Performing Arts.
