Don Welsh serves as keynote speaker, presents accreditation at Cincinnati USA CVB Annual Meeting

IMG_0387_-_CropDon Welsh, President and CEO of Destinations International, attended the Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau’s Annual Meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at the Duke Energy Convention Center, along with nearly 500 business professionals, civic leaders and members of the regional hospitality industry. Welsh celebrated the CVB’s 75th anniversary and recognized the bureau for completing the Destinations International Accreditation Program.

“Earning this accreditation better equips our CVB to approach the next several years with strategic advocacy and leadership for our hospitality industry and the Cincinnati region,” said Julie Calvert, president and CEO of the Cincinnati USA CVB.

The CVB honored this year’s Spirit of Cincinnati USA Award winners, recognizing the contributions of organizations and individuals to the local tourism and hospitality community.

Julie Calvert announced that, as of Feb. 25, 224 CVB-booked events will be hosted in Cincinnati in 2020 resulting in an anticipated $75 million in visitor spending.

The CVB outlined adjusted strategies to sell Cincinnati as a destination, including targeting smaller citywide groups, and more of them, by using industry intelligence reports and innovative prospecting tools.

The CVB was recognized by Don Welsh for completing the Destinations International Accreditation Program.
