InterContinental New York Barclay to Reopen in April

The InterContinental New York Barclay will undergo a multimillion-dollar renovation that will result in nine distinct meeting rooms totaling more than 15,000 sf. Scheduled to reopen April 2016, the Barclay will become one of the most desirable destinations in New York for corporate meetings and events, carefully designed to satisfy the needs and requirements of its discerning, local and international clientele.
The easily accessible Barclay hotel is situated in the heart of Manhattan’s East Side, prominently located in close proximity to the United Nations Headquarters and just 30 minutes away from the city’s major international airports.
The Barclay will offer two newly built ballrooms that will deliver elegant space to guests. The Grand Ballroom will measure 5,000 sf and boast catering abilities for groups of up to 450 guests for receptions. The 3,500-sf Empire Ballroom will accommodate groups of up to 315 people for receptions. Both ballrooms will be complete with 17-foot coffered ceilings, elegant chandeliers, custom crown molding, specialty carpet and millwork, and will have operational partitions to allow each event to be fully customized. The two ballrooms will face each other on either side of a newly created grand staircase, which will serve as a focal point of the hotel.
