Anaheim Convention Center Breaks Ground on New Building

AnaheimConventionCenterExpansion-400The Anaheim Convention Center (ACC) and the City of Anaheim hosted on April 21 a groundbreaking event to mark the seventh expansion to the LEED-certified Anaheim Convention Center, which was attended by officials from the City of Anaheim and construction partners. The ACC and Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau officials spoke on the local economic impact of the ACC, which will solidify its position as the largest convention center on the West Coast when the new building is completed in summer 2017.

Features of the new, two-level building include 200,000 sf of flexible space of which 100,000 sf is column-free exhibit space; a 10,000-sf balcony; 25-foot ceilings; 1,350 parking spaces; an impressive new main entrance on Katella Avenue; a climate-controlled pedestrian bridge connecting to the existing facility; new loading docks and an improved vehicular entrance.

More than 10 new groups have already booked the space and include such companies as Keller Williams, American Heart Association and American Wind Energy Association.
